Job Description:
As a Payroll Coordinator, you will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for our diverse workforce across various states. Your primary responsibilities will involve efficiently managing both union and non-union payrolls with a focus on maintaining compliance with all relevant tax codes and payroll regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process high-volume payroll data accurately and in a timely manner using ADP software.
- Perform comprehensive audits to ensure payroll accuracy and compliance with union agreements and government regulations.
- Stay up-to-date with federal, state, and local tax regulations, ensuring accurate tax withholding and reporting.
- Collaborate with HR and finance teams to address payroll-related inquiries and resolve any discrepancies.
- Handle payroll adjustments, deductions, and reimbursements with precision.
- Prepare and distribute payroll reports and statements for internal stakeholders.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of employee payroll information.
- Assist in year-end payroll activities, including W-2 preparation and reconciliation.
- Conduct periodic internal audits to ensure data integrity and compliance.
- Provide exceptional customer service to employees with payroll inquiries.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Proven experience as a Payroll Coordinator or similar role, handling high-volume union and non-union payrolls.
- Proficiency in using ADP software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Solid knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations, as well as payroll laws and best practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Uphold a high level of confidentiality and integrity in handling sensitive employee information.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing regulations and implement process improvements.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification is a plus.
