THE OPPORTUNITY
Michelin has an immediate opening for a Payroll Compliance Specialist who is responsible for providing advice and direction on payroll processing and corrections to minimize financial loss, reputational damage, and adverse employee experiences. This includes identification of potential risk, assessment, planning, reporting, and monitoring. By working closely with the Payroll Manager and Payroll processing team you will ensure adequate procedures are in place to achieve compliance with all United States and Canada federal, state and local payer regulations.

This opportunity is at our North American Corporate Headquarters in Greenville, SC and has a hybrid in-office schedule. Our payroll team takes pride in supporting the diverse workforce, coordinating with our shared service center support team and working with our external payroll provider. Greenville is situated just about halfway between Charlotte, North Carolina and Atlanta, Georgia. WHAT YOU WILL DO
•Serve as subject matter authority on Payroll Compliance ensuring that company is in compliance with all Federal, state and local regulatory rules and guidelines by implementing effective policies and audit procedures.
•Provide support to North America Payroll Operations to ensure timely and accurate payroll service delivery in accordance with domestic compliance regulations within a strong internal environment.
•Investigates and resolves payroll-based compliance matters with company locations, outside agencies and vendors. Ensures and maintains a strong internal control environment.
•Identify issues with operations or configuration and lead to a quick resolve.
•Build and report relevant and measurable metrics that monitor the performance of the company's payroll function.
•Responsible for the systems/technologies that drive payroll operations including interfaces to and from payroll (e.g., ADP Payroll, UKG T&A) including upgrades, improvements, testing, and reporting.
•Manage relationships with external payroll vendors maintaining expected service levels and implementation of new and enhanced services.
•Find opportunities and lead payroll projects that bring progress and improvements that support strategy, tactical and operational needs.
•Serve as liaison with internal and external auditors and state/federal agencies.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
•Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field preferred but not required.
•Certified Payroll Professional or Fundamental Payroll Certification is a plus.
•5+ years of multi-state US payroll processing experience required.
•5+ years of Canadian payroll processing experience is a plus (Toronto & Quebec)
•Effective problem-solving skills to analyze, find the root cause, and implement solutions to eliminate/reduce the risk of reoccurrence.
•Proven attention to detail and data accuracy in previous work.
•The ability to interact in a professional manner with external partners, suppliers, customers, and colleagues.
•Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office® Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to learn other software systems.
This position requires a hybrid in-office work schedule.
