POSITION: Payroll Assistant
OPENING DATE: December 29, 2023
SALARY: Starting Amt. $19.00 - $21.00 an hour
This position is responsible for performing one or more routine accounting payroll operations, answering employee's day to day payroll questions and showing a high level of customer service support.
Job Responsibilities:
Input employee data into ADP payroll system and reviews for accuracy.
Examine, verify and correct various payroll documents using the ADP payroll system to ensure completeness and accuracy.
Researches discrepancies on timesheets, vacation or sick requests.
Interacts with employees through calls and emails.
Ensures that deadlines given by management are met.
Ensures that initial payroll is processed accurately.
Other administrative and clerical tasks as assigned or requested by the supervisor.
Knowledge and Skills:
Demonstrated excellence in customer service and telephone skills.
Competence in the use of Microsoft Office products including Outlook and Internet Explorer.
High accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to work under time constraints and deliver results.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Strong verbal and written skills.
Working knowledge of office equipment.
Physical Requirements:
Lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
Standind and walking within assigned work area.
Some bending and stooping.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED equivalency
Some college coursework in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration preferred but not mandatory.
Previous payroll industry experience with knowledge of wage and tax laws and regulations preferred.
ADP experience preferred but not mandatory.
