Job Description
The Hire Solution Has partnered with a transportation company located in Plano, Texas, for the immediate role of Payroll and Benefits Administrator. This is an Immediate Contract or contract to hire opportunity with a great working environment. The ideal candidate will have payroll processing and Benefits administration experience, preferably within a midsize organization. Job duties will include:
Processes timesheets for Exempt and Non-exempt employees for payroll on a regular schedule assuring
all information is entered into the system accurately and timely
Process payroll for approximately 350 fulltime employees
Maintains records and processes vacation, holiday, and sick leave reports/requests as needed
Generates and loads payroll direct deposit files with bank for approval and processing
Responds to employee inquiries concerning paychecks, deductions, taxes, etc.
Verifies after each payroll processing that the appropriate tasks are accomplished
Provides earning payroll information to the Assistant Finance Director/Chief Accountant or designee for bank transfer purposes
Provides data on the federal tax information for wiring as required by Assistant Finance Director / Chief Accountant or designee
Provides deferred compensation totals to the Assistant Finance Director/Chief Accountant for wiring
Prepares follow-up reports for payroll functions
Prepares deferred compensation participation reports
Prepares W-2s and W-4
Prepares 941 quarterly and Federal tax returns and balance to W-2s
Processes and verifies accuracy of 1099s and1096s
Responds to inquiries from the IRS
Prepares Texas Workforce Commission employers quarterly report
Prepares garnishments (IRS, child support, student loans, etc.)
Prepares supplemental pay reports for workers comp
Prepares any requested in-house reports relating to payroll
Prepares and/or enter general ledger journal entries
Performs other department functions and duties as assigned
Matches accounts payable documentation with checks and prepare checks for mailing
Maintains accurate record-keeping methods in order to provide the Director of Finance and the
Director of Human Resources with the necessary reports
REQUIREMENTS:
Legal eligibility to work in the US without sponsorship
Associates degree in Accounting, Business, or related field with 2 years hands-on payroll processing and Benefits administration experience preferred
Requires a working knowledge of time sheets, on boarding and off boarding of employees
OR
High School graduation or its equivalent with 5 years experience in payroll, accounting, and/or bookkeeping and a working knowledge of general accounting principles
