Description

Role:

Responsible for assisting and supporting the the head of HR in all facets of human resources including payroll & benefits administration, HRIS administration, policy implementation, compliance & reporting, and compensation management.

 

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

40% - Responsible for the day-to-day management, administration, and compliance of Payroll and benefit programs, 401(k), including enrolling, terminating and modifying employee benefit coverage. Serves as first line of contact for employees regarding Payroll and benefit questions or requirements. Acts as a liaison between Radiant Credit Union and payroll/benefit carriers and brokers. Works with accounting to perform GL accrual and reconciliation.

15% - Maintains data in HRIS and other company owned systems. Ensures accuracy and completion of information for seamless reporting. Works with Director of HR to optimize and gain efficiencies in HRIS.

10% - Works with Employment Relations Specialist to ensure on all resumes and applications received for Credit Union positions that proper correspondence is sent to applicants. Maintains resume and application database via the HRIS. Maintains files, forms and database information associated with personnel, benefits, general information and recruiting.

10% - Maintains policy, procedures and Employee Handbook and ensure revisions are conducted timely. Responsible for HR postings and department page on Company Intranet.

10% - Performs new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward Credit Union goals.

10% - Handles requests for verifications of mortgage, employment, benefits, and other employment information. Routinely audits Company-owned personnel files and employment law postings for accuracy and adherence to established guidelines and applicable federal and state laws.

5% - Performs other related duties as assigned.

4. Job Knowledge- Meets job knowledge for current position level. Usually performs all tasks in expected time. Employee is continuing professional growth. Works with appropriate level of supervision and knows when to ask questions or ask for help. Usually uses available resources before requesting assistance

5. Decision Making, Problem Solving & Critical Thinking- Uses good judgment and solves common or routine problems. Understands how actions effect department and CU. Seeks advice or guidance when appropriate.

6. Teamwork- Usually demonstrates diplomacy, tact, skill and discretion when dealing with others, and has good working relationships. May sometimes require assistance with conflict resolution

Qualifications

Knowledge and Skills:

Experience - Five years to eight years of similar or related experience.

Education - (1) A bachelor's degree, or (2) achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree (e.g., information technology certifications in lieu of a degree).

Interpersonal Skills - Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is of a personal or sensitive nature. Motivating, influencing, and/or training others is key at this level. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others.

Other Skills - 1. Advanced knowledge and proficient use of Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, and HTML; effective verbal and written communication skills. 2. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. 3. Must be capable of operating all types of office equipment including computer, copy machine, fax, and telephone. 4. Excellent organization skills. 5. Must maintain a high level of professionalism and have proven presentation skills.

Physical Requirements - Ability to work extensively at a computer monitor with concentration and accuracy. Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. Ambulatory. Ability to see, hear and speak clearly.

Work Environment - Work environment is normally comfortable, quiet and even paced, though certain deadlines and activities may create a rush requiring occasional overtime.
