Position Summary:
- Under the general supervision of the Chief Operating Officer, support, develop and maintain relationships with all insurance providers within our network.
- This position responds to inquiries, replies to referrals, and successfully engages to bring additional insurance providers to partner with.
- This position also manages and conducts out-of-network negotiations and contracting as needed.
Essential Functions:
- Support and maintain a positive relationship between managed-care networks and the laboratory.
- Oversee the daily operations of managed-care networks and other health plan contracts.
- Follow up with contract negotiations.
- Respond, immediately, to external managed-care-related issues.
- Provide ongoing managed-care network education to sales staff, when needed.
Performance Measurements:
- Successfully initiated new managed care and other insurance network relationships.
- Successfully implement contracts with managed care and other insurance networks.
- Experience meeting deadlines.
- Work well under pressure.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent years of experience in healthcare managed-care contracting.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in laboratory managed-care contract development.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Fluent in English (both verbal and written).
