General Summary:
The Junior Subject Matter Expert (SME) within Payment Operations, will be responsible for evaluating organizational needs specific to Payment Operations and recommending suitable solutions while also working on various support activities. The Junior SME will interact on a daily basis with leadership, agents, creditors and key business partners in an effort to assist with process improvements. Due to the various operational needs, the specific tasks may change often. This role is required to work with a high degree of initiative, accuracy, independence and sense of urgency, as you will ensure all issues are identified and addressed in a timely manner. Good judgment, tact, and the ability to multi-task and communicate effectively are of primary importance for this position. Regular attendance and flexibility is also a requirement of this position as our goal is to exceed our client’s expectations.
Essential Duties:
Ad Hoc reporting
Workflow distribution
Assist with training new hires and existing employees on Payment Processes
Capturing trends related to various payment issues, creditor discrepancies, refunds, rework, etc.
Research discrepancies within communicated deadlines with the utmost quality
Accountability for the quality and accuracy of all completed work
Adhere to team/department/company procedures and make recommendations for improvements
Contribute to individual/team/department goals
Communicate with teammates and leadership as needed
Work closely with Leadership and Subject Matter Expert on various initiatives
Review and escalate trends to key business partner Leadership as appropriate
Other Responsibilities:
Work cross departmentally to resolve any client/business concerns
Continuously improve through feedback
Other duties as assigned
Job Specifications: (Basis knowledge, skills, abilities and experience normally required for an office environment)
Knowledge and Experience
Minimum of 6 months experience in a Payment Processing role
Experience with examining and speaking to data
Skills and Abilities
Possess excellent communication and presentation skills
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment
Must work well in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment, and good at dealing with constant change
Knowledgeable of MS Office: word, excel, outlook
Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
