The Patient Services Nurse RN provides support for the LVN’s at the call center and is responsible for advising Call Center staff on clinical issues. Ensures staff adheres to policies and procedures regarding the completion of timely referrals, tracking, and entering data into Electronic Health record. Facilitates clinical issues between clinicians and provides guidance, both written and verbal between centers and Call center to ensure patient needs are met. Provides care coordination as needed and medication requests to degree of licensure.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Ensures call center staff operates regarding published clinical guidelines. Ensures adherence to existing Policies and Procedures to facilitate patient care. Serves as liaison to patients, providers and other departments in issues such as patient calls, referrals and walk-ins.
2. Ensures timely referrals are provided in accordance with covered health plans. Data is tracked and forwarded to ensure completion and timely entry in an Electronic Health Record (EHR).
3. Assists with standardizing patient care nursing activities of the Center to ensure that medical histories, vitalizations, and other documentation are properly completed in compliance with regulatory and accreditation agencies and through compliance of the Center audits; conducts medical surveillance; mentors and trains LVNs and others assigned to company Call Centers.
4. Ensures that procedures and workflow are consistent with clinic objectives, protocol, regulations, and standards, and that operations conform to established environmental, safety, and infection control requirements.
5. As appropriate, provides outreach services to clients in area of clinical specialty. Provides excellent internal/external customer service via telephone, fax or face-to-face contact to assist patients with their health care needs.
6. Performs other related duties as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Associates degree in Nursing required or equivalent
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is highly preferred
Current unrestricted License as a Registered Nurse in the state of the Texas
Minimum one (1) year experience in health care
Ability to perform well under stress
Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred with sensitivity to the needs of the Center’s target population
Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), American Heart Association

REQUIRED PHYSICAL AND MENTAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS:
Finger Dexterity: Using fingers to make small movements such as typing or picking up small objects. Normal fine and gross motor control of fingers and hands.
Talking: Frequently conveying detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately, clearly, or quickly.
Hearing: Able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information; hear whispered voice at five (5) feet.
Repetitive Motions: Frequently and regularly using the wrists, hands, and fingers.
Visual: Visual acuity necessary for the proper evaluation of a patient and to prepare or inspect documents or other materials. Ability to accurately view computer monitors
Physical: Sitting 20-30% of time and standing, walking 70-80% of time. Lift up to 25 lbs; push and pull up to 45 lbs. Able to bend at the waist, twist and turn along axial plane.
