Medical secretary front desk associate are available at The Eye Care Group in Orange/Branford CT. On rare occasions you may be asked to work in our Waterbury and Southbury offices.
We seek candidates with excellent command of registration, copay and outstanding balance collection, and a love of working with patients. YOU are the face/personality of our Practice, you are a talented people person.
Experience with an electronic medical record is a plus. At The Eye Care Group we use Nextech. Overall your computer skills must be well defined.
We are a busy Ophthalmology Practice hoping to find an engaging yet business-like personality with a working knowledge and understanding of EHR, all insurance, vision and managed care plans, etc. Experience checking patients in and out and answering busy phones a must. Must have excellent customer service skills. We have a very friendly working environment, competitive benefits package and salary. You will need a car for this position and Ct State Driver's License.
All Patient Services associates generally out by 5pm, with one day assigned later, out by 6:30 and an occasional Saturday. Time is either exchanged, or is OT. We will consider candidates who need flextime.
You must be patient focused, have excellent keyboard skills, great attention to detail and skilled in PATIENT SERVICE and satisfaction. After a year's successful tenure, there is opportunity for additional growth within the company, and/or expansion in your current role

· The Medical Front Desk is part of the Patient Services team, scheduling appointments, and maintaining appointment calendars. Monitors doctor’s patient schedule to insure good patient flow.
· Answers and responds to incoming calls, triage and distributes calls as needed.
· Receives payment and records receipts for services. Posts and balances daily batch. Makes bank deposits on a daily basis.
· Knowledge of Phreesia helpful.
· Observes patient and telephone flow; offering or requesting assistance as needed.
· Facilitates communication to the MD through the use of in-box, voicemail, and e-mails as appropriate. Maintains records of communications from patients, family members or caretakers of patients, referring and consulting MDs and vendors.
· Maintains positive attitude consisting of cooperation, self-motivation, courtesy, and professionalism.
· Assists with Call Center as needed
· Assists in training of other Front Desk/ Call Center staff and is cross trained with understanding (it develops the employee's skill set and aids the Practice in efficiencies for patients).
Education:
· High school or equivalent (Preferred), GED.
Experience:
· Medical Front Desk: 1 year (Required)
· Collecting Patient Copayments and Balances: 1 year (Required)
· Must be able to work 37.5 hours/week
· (Reliable transportation): Traveling to/from Orange or Branford, or to/from Waterbury or Southbury (as scheduled/needed) after 90 days, mileage/travel expenses are reimbursed. If working a Sat (will receive full days pay + one day off during following week).
