We are seeking a highly motivated, reliable, hard-working, personable, friendly individual who is able to multitask and be a team player for the position of Patient Service Representative for a busy dermatology practice. Responsibilities include: insurance verification, determine insurance eligibility and benefits; obtain required prior authorizations and referrals; collect patient payments and post payments; communicate with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers to resolve billing issues; answer phone calls and schedule appointments; check-in and check-out patients; manage practice portals and faxes. The Patient Service Representative must maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Medical Billing Specialist, Patient Service Representative, or in a similar role
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures.
- Familiarity with medical billing software systems
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- High level of integrity and professionalism in handling sensitive patient information
Skills:
- Proficiency in electronic medical software. Ability to type and record information in the electronic medical record.
- Understanding of medical collection processes
- Familiarity with medical office procedures
