The Patient Service Representative is responsible for the patient check-in process, updating computer patient personal information and insurance information, handling a multi-line phone system, medical records filing and maintenance, and collection of co-pays and cash payments.

Essential Functions
- Performs opening and closing clinic duties
- Greets patients, checks in for appointments and verifies insurance
- Scans documents into electronic health recordMaintains tidiness of waiting area and reception counter throughout the day
- Checks schedules for added, canceled and no-show appointments throughout the day
- Schedules follow up appointments as needed
- Responds to designated tasks in the electronic health record
- Orders clinic office supplies
- Sells and tracks cosmetic products
- Distributes mail
- Prepares for next day scheduled appointments
Education
High school diploma or equivalent is required
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- 1-2 years of recent medical office experience in a similar capacity is preferred.
- Previous customer service/relations training is preferred.
- Must be able to understand and spell Dermatologic medical terms and prescriptions.
- Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office.
- Must possess organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with staff, clients, and visitors.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a team.
