Job Title: Patient Services Representative Scheduler
Schedule: Mon-Fri 8a-4:30p (Remote)
Compensation: $17-$19/hr
JOB SUMMARY: Coordination of scheduling appointments for clinic, therapy, intake and IHC if applicable for consumers. This position is also responsible for answering phone lines and transferring/distributing calls as appropriate for all incoming calls into the Metro MHC location.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Answer all incoming lines promptly and courteously, in a professional manner.
- Retrieve overnight voice mail messages and distribute to appropriate staff.
- Consistently greet all incoming lines in a friendly manner, link consumers to appropriate agency staff based on question/concern presented.
- Maintain and coordinate scheduling of new and return appointments for consumers with clinic providers (including telepsychiatry), intake clinicians, therapists and nursing staff. If same day appointment, following established guidelines assure communication of these appointments to appropriate staff.
- Schedule transportation for return appointments when necessary as needed for internal MHC transportation. Assist consumers in communicating with internal and external transportation companies as needed.
- Assume responsibility for the maintenance of professional calendars and schedules of Medical Operations, Therapy, Intake and IHC (if applicable).
- Provide excellent customer service skills at all times while on the phone and interacting with co-workers regarding scheduling changes, consumer questions, etc.
- Assist with insurance verification, verifying coverage/eligibility, and reporting any errors.
- In conjunction with Patient Service Rep Supervisor, work a back-fill list for each provider and therapist to ensure efficient use of daily schedules.
REQUIREMENTS
- Mental Health-related degree preferred or equivalent experience answering multi line phones in a health care setting; Customer service experience preferred.
- Valid Tennessee Driver’s License
- Acceptable Criminal Background Investigation
