This position is responsible for gathering and verifying patient information including patient demographics and insurance information for scheduled appointments at our facility and physician practices.This position is perfect for someone seasoned at a medical office or even someone new to healthcare. The manager is supportive of growing her team into highly skilled Revenue Cycle professionals. Job Description:
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Calls and registers patients, includes validating guarantor, demographic and insurance information.
- Communicates with patients and/or their families, as permissible, to provide necessary pre-procedure instructions and to confirm appointments.
- Participate in various projects and/or meetings, and complete other tasks as assigned by management.
The Ideal Candidate will have:
- Ability to handle a large volume of outgoing and incoming calls
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills (effective listening, clear communication, effective customer problem resolution, warm demeanor)
- 1+ year working in customer service, preferably in healthcare.
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
- Experience with using everyday computer electronic technology tools (e.g., email, data retrieval, voicemail, and internet/intranet) as well as ability to effectively utilize and enter information in the electronic medical record (EMR).
