About this position:
The Patient Safety Specialist collaborates across JHBMC departments and throughout the JHHS to assess and promote a just culture of Patient Safety. The Patient Safety Specialist is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and/or evaluating Patient Safety principles and practices throughout the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. The Patient Safety Specialist must develop strong, professional relationships with all members of the interdisciplinary care team and collaborate with leadership and staff to facilitate the successful integration of Patient Safety principles into current and future practice.
What you will need:

1. Master's degree in clinical profession of relevance is required. Higher degree if required by professional licensing board. Preferred: Lean Six Sigma Greenbelt or higher. Trained in Design Thinking, Human Factors and CUSP methodologies. Master's degree in clinical profession of relevance.
2. Minimum five (5) years clinical experience required; with a minimum of 2 years of leadership and/or program/project management. Preferred: Leadership participation in a CUSP team.
3. State board licensure in profession of relevance required. Preferred: Certification in Patient Safety. If not certified at time of hire, certification required within 2 years of date of hire. Professional certification in clinical area of assignment.
