Summary:
- Greets patients and provides assistance to patients in order for them to be processed quickly and efficiently. Ensures that accurate appointment and insurance information is obtained and passed on to the patient.
- Obtains data on each patient to ensure correct billing procedures.
- Process registration of all new patients to include obtaining all necessary data, verification of insurance coverage and creation of the patient charts by coding.
- Collects appropriate fees and co-pays at the time of registration. Issues receipts for all monies taken.
- Prepares all patient insurance, disability and claim forms.
- Follows appropriate cash control procedures.
- Balances all Patient Registration Services close outs and prepares daily bank deposits and may be expected to deposit in the bank.
- Balances cash bag at the end of the day.
- Maintains eligibility information in the computer system.
- Assists walk-ins and Urgent Care patients in obtaining appointments.
- Makes and distributes new patient medical charts.
- Assists patients with routine questions.
- Answers incoming phone calls.
- Maintains a clean and professional front office area.
- Follows all HIPAA rules and regulations.
- Maintains strict confidentiality.
- Other duties as assigned
Experience
Preferred- 2 year(s): Minimum 2+ years with physician office or outPatient Registration experience. Data entry, telephone service experience and medical insurance knowledge required. An understanding of Medicare, HMO, PPO’s and a clear understanding of the difference between all benefit packages recommended.

Required- High School or better
