We invite you to join our independent medical supply company in Southern California, General Home Medical Supply, Inc.
We currently have an opening for a Patient Service Representative, providing needed medical equipment to patients with experience in Medical Insurance Benefits/Eligibility Verification and Authorization. This full time career opportunity will have a Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm schedule, and is located in Westlake Village, CA.
Responsibilities:
- Perform patient registration, Insurance Verification and collect co-pays.
- Request prior authorizations and supporting clinical documents.
- Communicate professionally, both verbally and written.
- Work independently in the resolution of complaints and other service related issues.
- Collect and enter patient data into an electronic medical record (EMR).
- Answer phones and contact patients, healthcare professionals and insurances over the phone.
- Answer patient questions about billing and orders.
- Coordinate delivery of prescribed durable medical equipment and supplies through our vendors/distributors.
- Maintain quality/productivity standards and update a daily/monthly log of transactions.
- Cross-train and help as needed in other departments (i.e., Maternity Department.).
- Participate in various projects and/or meetings, and complete other tasks as assigned by management.
