Licensure & Experience Required: Active State Tested Nursing Assistant, OR One year of comparable experience in a hospital setting within the past 3 years, OR Nursing students can qualify if they have successfully completed the fundamentals of nursing course(s) of an approved college/school program.
Certifications: Current CPR (BLS for healthcare provider required).

MINIMUM PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Occasionally, 1-33% of the time: Climb stairs/ladder; sitting; lifting/carrying 41-60lbs, 61-100lbs, +100lbs with assistance. May come into contact with fumes, gases, vapors, biohazard waste, machinery, and power tools. Frequently, 34-66% of the time: Squat/kneel; reaching above shoulder; repetitive arm and hand use. Lifting/carrying 0-40lbs; pushing/pulling 0-61lbs; depth perception-vision. May come into contact with blood, bodily fluids, communicable diseases or pathogens, chemicals, and electricity. Continuously, 67-100% of the time: Standing, walking, audible speech, speech clarity and hearing acuity. Color vision, seeing far/near.

- Performs clerical office coordination and administrative tasks as necessary.
- Collects, documents, and reports vital signs such as: blood pressure or mean arterial pressure, heights, and weights.
- Completes screening questions and documents all items into medical record.
- Promotes general patient safety and performs minor specimen testing. Holds, positions patients and assists with procedures.
- Preps all materials and supplies as needed.
- Remains compliant with HIPAA, maintains professionalism and ensures confidentiality of patient information.
- Ensures environmental standards are met and all clinic and patient areas are stocked, cleaned, and maintained.
- Identifies learning needs and attends continuing education as appropriate.
- Participates in educational activities offered by the business unit.
- Acts as a preceptor of orientation and training of other PCA staff.
Education: High school graduate or equivalent.

- Demonstrated basic computer skills.
- Must demonstrate competence as defined in the Patient Care Assistant responsibilities/skills checklist in providing age appropriate care and services to pediatric patients of all ages and selected adult patients.
- Displays a positive presence and interacts with all levels of staff, outside vendors, consultants, and physicians.
