Responsibilities
Job Expectations:
The Patient Attendant provides direct and constant observation to assigned patients that require monitoring for safety reasons.
The Patient Attendant's responsibilities include:
- Ensure patient safety through close and vigilant observation of the patient
- Observes for real and potential threats to the patient's safety and initiates appropriate action to prevent patient harm
- Reports observations directly to the assigned nurse or to the unit's charge nurse
- Details observations in the designated appropriate manner
- Performs other tasks as needed.
