Overview
We have 6 steps on our non-clinical pay scales to compensate staff for 6 years of relevant experience.
The work schedule is a 12 hour day shift 7:00 am to 7:00 pm, Thursday-Saturday with alternering Wednesday Shifts
This position provides registration and customer service coverage in the Emergency Department of Plumas District Hospital. They assume the responsibility for successful financial outcomes of patient services. Under the supervision of the Patient Access Supervisor, the employee in this position is responsible for obtaining/updating patient demographic and insurance information, registration of Emergency Department visits, insurance verification and coverage, initiating the authorization process for inpatient stays, scanning protected information, collection of co-pays and notifying Patient Financial Counselors of any self-pay or under insured patients. This position requires compliance with all federal and state regulations for the emergency department. The employee will have continuous contact with patients, guests, general public, physicians and hospital staff. They will maintain close working relationships with the Patient Access Supervisor, Emergency Department, Utilization Review Nurse, floor nurses, ancillary department staff and outside agency representatives

Qualifications
Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED, 1-3 years of Customer Service, 1-2 years of experience in the healthcare environment
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Provide excellent customer service, conflict resolution skills and problem solving, Efficient time management skills and ability to work independently, Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, Strong understanding and comfort level with computer systems
Must meet physical requirements as stated on job description addendum
