Ironwood Cancer & Research Centers has beautiful state-of-the-art integrated Cancer and Women's Centers, with locations strategically located throughout the Valley. Each one provides a superior cancer care environment with a full spectrum of cancer related services for patients. Our multi-disciplinary team approach includes surgical oncology, medical oncology, radiation oncology, women's centers, diagnostic imaging services, social service support, nutritionist, integrative services, and genetic counseling.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manages the day-to-day operations of the Insurance Verification team
- Creates benchmarks/goals for the department and takes ownership of key performance indicators of the department.
- Mentor, train and ensure that Supervisors and Leads perform all of their duties and instruct staff.
- Proactively engages in process improvement. Identifies needs, updates and improves work processes and methods. Provides opportunities for strategic departmental improvements and communicates recommendations regularly.
- Weekly management reports to RCM Manager and Senior Leadership.
- Performs other duties as directed by supervisor, administrator, or physicians.
- Strong understanding of insurance denials and EOBs.
- Extensive knowledge of insurance coverage(s) and benefits.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Knowledge of infusions, hospital, SNF, LTC and hospice in relation to insurance benefits.
- Knowledge of CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10, HCPCS required.
- Knowledge of basic mathematics and accounting.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
Preferred Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge of oncology drugs, compendia guidelines, radiation and radiology procedures to direct staff and answer questions.
- Strong understanding of Accounts Receivable.
- Experience with manufacturer/drug company patient assistance programs.
- Strong understanding of basic HR policies, employee corrective action and performance review processes.
- Experience with performance dashboards, analytics and auditing.

Education and/or Experience:
- 10 years of medical billing experience minimum.
- 5 years of healthcare management experience
- 5 years minimum direct oversight of Insurance Verification Staff.
- Preferred Bachelor’s degree or Associate degree plus equivalent experience.
