This position will work at UNCH Women's Central Registration and will work the hours of Monday - Friday from 5:15am - 1:45pm.
Summary:
Serves as a resource and provides effective support to co-workers ensuring Patient Access processing is performed in accordance with established procedures and documented in in a timely and accurate manner within our electronic medical record system. Meets departmental and organizational outcome targets for registration accuracy and timeliness within their respective area(s). Essential duties and responsibilities are as follows. Other duties or special projects may be assigned as necessary.
Responsibilities:
- Assists Supervisor with co-worker orientation, onboarding, and precepting needs. Serves as a resource for all new co-workers and provides input for co-worker evaluations (180 day evaluation and annual evaluation) as assigned by Leadership. Assist with re-education and training of co-workers as needed.
- Serves as the subject matter expert and first point of contact for staff. Knowledgeable of all applicable policies, procedures, and operational workflows.
- Assists with departmental QA to ensure registration accuracy and WQ resolution.
- Assists with updating staff schedule. Communicates information regarding coverage changes as needed. Informs Leadership when minimum staffing needs cannot be met and overtime hours need to be approved. Provides staffing coverage when necessary.
- Serves as a role model to ensure both customer service, patient, and co-worker satisfaction; demonstrating a positive, professional, calm, and approachable disposition with all.
- Escalates issues to Leadership that cannot be resolved by Sr PAIS. Collaborates with others areas/departments to troubleshoot and resolve patient-related and operational workflow concerns.
- Monitors supply usage by maintaining adequate inventory. Communicates to Leadership and/or purchases needed supplies in a timely manner.
- Participates in the planning and direction of team meetings.
- Participates and provides input in the hiring process as appropriate.
- Assists in ensuring upfront POS Collections targets are met. Promptly manages patient concerns related to collections and reports all concerns and actions taken to Leadership. Ensure staff utilize the patient estimator tool as a regular part of their registration process to provide patients a more accurate estimate.
Other Information
- High School Diploma or GED. required.
- Requires two (2) years of experience Patient Access/patient registration.
- Excellent customer service skills required.
