Summary/Objective
The Patient Access Department Coordinator is responsible for supporting Patient Access operations across Outer Cape Health Services Sites and Access Center. The coordinator will work collaboratively with the Director of Clinical Support Services, and Patient Access Manager to ensure Patient Access functions are supported.
Essential Functions:
- Provide support Day to Day operations for Patient Service Reps (Site Level), Access Center Staff, Referral team and Medical Records.
- Assist with Clerical Functions including Mail Sorting, Metering and Interoffice Mail Management.
- Handles department purchasing and supply management.
- Assists with setting up grids and reports for Point of service collections. Report collections data.
- Support Front End Registration, Billing and Referral management for Operational Support.
- Consistently communicates appropriate information to staff, supporting areas and provides feedback to Director and respective Site directors. Communicates deficits and problems to supervisors/leads with recommended solutions for improvements.
- Provide back up support Medical Record functions including Fax indexing, Record Requests, and scanning.
- Oversight of all front-end processes, and Essential Data Capture collection responsibilities including proper patient identification, insurance verification, meaningful use data, and patient financial liability.
- Support Director of Clinical Support Services and or Manager of Patient Access with Special Projects as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications, Education, and Experience:
- 2-4 years of Healthcare Experience.
- Prior Epic knowledge or EMR.
- Extremely detail-oriented in both verifying own work as well as that of others.
- Good oral and written communication skills are required.
- Medical Terminology.
- Self-motivated and self-directed to work within a team and independently.
Preferred Qualifications, Education, and Experience
- Associates Required in Healthcare, Business, Operations Management.
- 3-5 Years of Patient Access, Healthcare Operations experience.
