Job Description
The Duquesne Club has an immediate opening for a Pastry Cook. This position is for the PM shift starting at 1:00 pm - 10:00 pm and working Saturdays. The Club is closed on Sundays.
This is an entry level position with a large focus on macaroon production. This is our signature cookie that is well known and a favorite of many. The position would also assist with preparation of plated desserts for banquets. As well as assist in the successful execution of the PM a la carte line which services several of the dining rooms inside the Club. One should show creativity and take ownership. Candidate should be able to follow recipes and presentation specifications as well as follow sanitation and safety standards. Candidate should be knowledgeable of the fundamentals of Pastry Cooking. Preferred candidate should be attending a culinary art/apprenticeship program or a graduate of an accredited culinary program.
Position requires mobility and dexterity to bend, stoop, grasp, reach, twist, etc. One would be required to stand/walk during entire shift or incorporate all activities into their shift. One must have the ability to lift 50 pounds as well as physical strength to pull equipment.
All staff members who work at the Club should be friendly and always greet members with a smile and address them by name. One should be accommodating and always go the extra mile to see that the member’s needs are met and exceeded. This is a conservative environment. No visible tattoos.
