Primary Purpose: The Pastor of Global Outreach will be responsible for the oversight and implementation of the Global Outreach strategy in partnership with the Elders of Park. This position will provide Pastoral leadership around Global Outreach to those in our church body and to our external partner ministries.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute the vision of Park’s global ministry through overseeing and implementing the global missions strategy
- Appoint, train, and support north, central, and south region leaders to help carry out the regional operation of the global ministry in alignment with the global mission and vision
- Develop a flexible, sustainable training pathway to send Western missionaries to the nations and International Park members back to their nations for ministry
- Instill a culture of sentness and global mutual collaboration across Park churches, working closely with Park pastors and regional leads
- Increase visibility and communication of all aspects of the global ministry
- Continually raise up and develop future missionaries, ministry leaders, and volunteers
- Support and encourage Global Partners, working closely with the Global Partner Care Coordinators
- Oversee Global Trips, working closely with the Global Trips Coordinator
- Support and strengthen global partnerships
- Direct the allocation of the global budget and open up pathways for greater funding, including grant writing and fundraising
Required Experience
- Proven ability to recruit, build teams, develop and direct staff, regional leads and volunteers of diverse backgrounds and ethnicities
- Proven strong networking and teamwork skills; ability to work cooperatively and jointly with a diverse group of staff members, ministries, organizations and volunteers
- Proven ability to develop and implement strategy to grow a ministry or church
- Proven ability to develop and maintain strategic alliances with partnerships and churches
- Previous experience leading short-term missions teams
- Previous experience living and doing ministry in a large urban city
- Previous experience teaching and leading large groups of people
- Previous global ministry engagement
Preferred Experience
- Strong preference for someone who has lived cross-culturally, engaged in Kingdom work outside the U.S.
- Previous ministry experience overseeing lay-led teams
- Prior experience working on a church staff
- Previous oversight of a large budget
- Previous experience working with a missionary sending agency
- Masters level Biblical education

- To become a Park Member and to abide by the By-laws indicated in our partnership book
- To reflect Christ in your words and actions in your personal life and ministry. You will be looked up to as you model the Christian faith, and the way you live your life should reflect the Gospel. (Living lives of holiness, purity, and free from addictions)
- Ability to travel overseas on a regular basis (potentially up to 3-4 times per year)
- To live in the city limits of Chicago
