The Opportunity: Training will begin mid/end of December with shifts starting in the beginning of January. Newly hired staff may have opportunities for additional hours in various programs (special events, athletics, facilities, etc.). As the Party/Facility Attendant, you will engage with a wide variety of rentals/birthday parties located at both the Lincoln Center and the Recreation Center. Duties include but are not limited to set-up and clean-up of rental/parties, assisting the rental/party group with any needs (AV, decorations, moving party gifts/supplies, etc.) monitoring safe and proper activity, leading preplanned birthday activities, responding to patron concerns and questions, managing and reporting accidents.

What you get: In exchange for your time and talent, this position pays $17.00 per hour including a free fitness membership to 4500 Fitness.

When you’ll work: This position will typically work Friday evenings and/or Saturdays depending on rental schedule (length of shifts can fluctuate and are determined by party rental times).

A Day in the Life:

• Monitor room set-up

• Greet guests

• Maintain organization

• Prepare room/facility for event use which includes, but is not limited to, performing set-ups and take-downs, completing required cleanings, and ensuring building is opened and closed before and after the event

• Lead preplanned birthday party activities including but not limited to nerf games, tie-dye crafts, princess/superhero themed games, etc.

• Requires removing event trash from the building to outside dumpster

• Assist clients loading and unloading event materials from their vehicle

• Assist with general custodial duties, which may include spills or other waste materials, and restocking restrooms

• Interacts effectively and professionally with clients and internal employees for events

• Knowledgeable and familiar with rental information to serve the client

• Ensure clients arrive at their scheduled time and leave at their scheduled time

• Performs other related duties and/or special projects as assigned

• Attend staff meetings, trainings and special events

• Ensure Park District’s safety policies are being followed and implemented
