Job Title:Parts Room Clerk
JOB PURPOSE:
The Parts Room Clerk maintains production by inventorying and disbursing supplies and equipment. Accepts shipments and ships product by unloading, loading and verifying shipments.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Receives items by unpacking containers, unloading vehicles; accepting deliveries.
- Verifies items received by inspecting condition of items, comparing count/measure of items to purchase order and packing list, and noting discrepancies.
- Maintains inventory by marking and placing items in stock, establishing inventory reorder points, reporting items to be re-ordered.
- Documents inventory by recording additions, disbursements, adjustments, losses, and removals of items.
- Keep product storage area neat and orderly. Keep products segregated by jobs.
- Processes orders from requisitions and dispense items from stock.
- Load equipment for the safe, cost effective and productive movement of product, tools and supplies to customers and job sites; minimizing damage to product or carrier’s equipment.
- Stage equipment for loading.
- Locate, and prepare for shipping all required ship loose items.
- Periodically check production of product.
- Develop and maintain good business relationships with carriers, drivers, and customers; coordinate with engineering for resource information as needed.
- Prepare shipping bills, prints and manuals.
- Coordinate with production and quality control for completion schedule ship ready time.
- Coordinate with carriers on loads, required equipment needed, size and weight of product, loading and delivery time and date.
- Coordinate with customers, construction, and project management for delivery of product.
- Handle any and all tasks required to safely and cost effectively move our products, tools, supplies from our shipping location or our vendor’s location to our customer or job site.
- Fills item requests by issuing/delivering items.
- Maintains inventory operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.
- Prepares packages to be returned to the supplier or sent out for repair.
- Issues materials from storeroom and obtains material requisition slips for each item.
- Take periodic inventories, as determined by company policy.
- Maintains thorough knowledge of all processes and equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
- GED or High School diploma.
- One to three years direct/relevant experience in Shipping/Receiving/Inventory handling.
- Must have excellent attendance and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Knowledgeable of forest products machinery and parts.
- Must have industrial experience using hand tools, power tools, and forklift.
- Experience with Microsoft Office; Microsoft Dynamics preferred.
- Have a strong understanding of logistics & supply chain with the ability to work closely with freight carriers.
