Summary
- Receives incoming parts and supplies (stock/non-stock)
- Count stock items and record date manually or using a computer
- Pack and unpack items to be stocked on shelves in stockrooms, warehouses, or storage in yard
- Processes all materials, products, parts, equipment and supplies to customers, coworkers or manufacturing technical support in conjunction with PM (preventive maintenance) or repair schedule and coordinates walk-in requests. Ensure accurate input and output of inventory from CMMS
- Create and maintain inventory location using the EAM or CMMS
- Verify inventory computations by comparing against physical count of stock and investigate discrepancies, report results to immediate supervisor
- Mark stock items using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools or other labeling equipment
- Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage area in order
- to ensure compliance with safety regulations
- Determine and modify as necessary minimum order quantities of all parts and supplies
- Determine proper storage methods, identification, and stock location based on turnover, environmental factors, and physical capabilities of facility
- Prepare and maintain records and reports of inventories, price lists, shortages, shipments, expenditures and goods used or issued
- Maintain accurate records of damaged/used parts and process appropriate dispositions of the parts
- Drive fork-lift equipment/truck in order to pick up incoming stock or deliver parts to designated locations
- Provide information when communicating with Supervisors or co-workers by telephone, in written form, email or in person
- Aid or direction to other stockroom, warehouse, storage, yard or manufacturing workers
- Dispose of damaged or defective items, or return the damaged or defective items to the vendor
- Recommend disposal of excess, defective or obsolete stock
- Performing general physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and whole-body movements while handling stockroom parts
- Coordinate with outside vendors on disposition of failed mechanical and electrical components
- Assist with HazMat labeling and storage
- Other duties as assigned
The required skills for this position are:
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- Intermediate computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Prior parts room experience preferred. Knowledge of maintenance work processes a plus.
- Must be willing to help in the manufacturing or warehouse areas as needed
- Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Work involves lifting of materials and product up to 50 pounds. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, steel toe boots/shoes and hardhats. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.
