SCOPE OF POSITION:

To support the mission of the Parts business unit and grow parts business through creating and inspecting sales initiatives, creating sales content for sales team, working with vendors to bring on new product, create training and marketing calendars, and help increase product knowledge within the parts department.

Qualifications:

 

  • Minimum of 8 years HVAC Distributor experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of HVAC Sales experience

 

Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

 

  • Ability to give presentations in front of various groups.
  • Instructing: teach others how to do something
  • Negotiating deals with vendors
  • Advanced HVAC industry knowledge
  • Knowledge of computer programs, including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, PowerPoint, and CRM
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, profit margins, unit conversions, percentages, area and volume.

Responsibilities:

 

Sales

  • Identify market trends, customer needs, and competitor offerings to develop a comprehensive parts and supplies product portfolio.
  • Manage vendors and Vendor Rebates by becoming primary point of contact for multiple parts vendors and work with vendors to explore new products to add to inventory, and maximize rebates earned.
  • Develop focused parts Professional Sales Calls (PSC’s) for the sales team, monitor successes and inspect team performance.
  • Responsible for the onboarding of new products including new product launches, initial orders, training, marketing of new items and new product lines.
  • Responsible for Critical parts for new equipment and bringing into inventory.
  • Work with purchasing department to verify accurate inventory levels and seasonal products stocking.
  • Assist with the creation and implementation of a parts/supplies marketing calendar.
  • Assist with slow moving/dead inventory.
  • Analysis of product groups for accuracy

 

Training

  • Creation of training classes for specific products including Sheet Metal, Sequence of Operations, Aftermarket Part Selection training including motors, compressors, gas valves. Etc.
  • Create training materials, presentations, and resources to support ongoing learning and development initiatives.
  • Responsible for training of new products
    • Work with vendor and branch managers to display, market, and train the teams.
    • Provide training for sales team and collateral for new products (PSC’s)
  • Audit and edit parts and supplies description in P21.
  • Improve pop ups in P21 for equipment to increase add-on sales.
  • Development and improvement of price pages for specific parts and supplies

 

Key Performance Indicators

  • Sales and margin growth of parts business unit
    • Includes inspection of focused product groups and PSC’s
    • Sales goal by product, by outside salesman, by account, by branch
    • Report monthly to the VP of Parts
  • Percentage of parts/supplies sales to total business
    • Monitored by TM and by business unit.
    • Inspect individual branch performance.
    • Report monthly to the VP of Parts
  • New Product Introduction- Track the successful launch of new products and their contribution to overall sales growth.
    • Growth monitored by branch, by salesmen
  • Supplier Performance- Evaluate supplier performance based on factors such as delivery times, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Inspect Parts Programs quarterly.
    • Who’s performing, who’s not performing
    • Overall investment vs impact – ROI
    • Report to VP of Parts
