Studio Assistant/Art Production Assistant

We are a professional art studio in Englewood, CO, currently accepting applications for a short-term, part-time Production Assistant position. At this time, we anticipate filling this position through June 2024 with potential to extend.

// IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS //

• Experience in hands-on production of products, preferably hand-made and in a variety of media (wood, paper, paint, etc)

• Experience working in a high paced production environment, or other high paced work environment with an ability to change focus and direction regularly throughout the work day

• High level of attention to detail and high standards for completed work: this position requires finesse and an eye towards perfection of finished products

• Obsessively organized and capable of sorting and arranging materials and supplies by themes, color, use, etc.

• Team player who is comfortable assisting others

• Ability to take direction and to receive and implement feedback daily

• Ability to adapt and improve upon current processes to help constantly improve production

• Hard working with a focus on output

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position for 8-10 hours a day

• Must be able to move about the studio to access tools, technology and artworks

• Must be able to manipulate art tools, including scissors, X-acto knives, paint brushes and similar

• Ability to lift and move up to 40 lbs

• Ability to observe details at a close range

• Flexible schedule with the ability to work (occasional) overtime as needed

• Reliable transportation to and from work

// JOB DESCRIPTION //

• Prepare backgrounds with paint and glue for 2D artwork

• Use scissors or X-acto to cut out papers or designs

• Touchup, finish/seal artworks before framing (glue, paint details)

• Sort and organize colored papers into various drawers and bins based on color and texture

• Maintain cleanliness and safety standards within 2D studio

• Willingness to shift from tasks as needed for studio

• Be able to shift to new responsibilities as the needs of the studio change over time

// SCHEDULE + UPCOMING AVAILABILITY //

This position is part-time and seasonal. We request 24 hours (3 days) weekly, preferably on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. No weekend or evening shifts are available.

Our standard work day is 9am-5:45pm with a 45-minute lunch break. We can accommodate alternative start and end times if needed. Please specify your availability in your statement of interest.

In-person interviews will be conducted with any candidates selected to move forward, followed by a paid trial day in the studio for candidates selected for a second round.

This position pays $20.50/hour.
