POSITION: Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Coordinator

LOCATION: Restoration for All, Inc. (REFA), 1870 50th St. E Ste #10, Inver Grove Heights, MN 55077/ 8525 Edinbrook Crossing, Suite #216 Brooklyn Park, MN 55443

About the Employer and the Comprehensive Suicide Prevention
Restoration for All Inc. (REFA) is an organization that partners with youths, women, and communities to restore their cultural connections by addressing trauma, promoting socio-economic cultural well-being, and resilient connections. Our mission is to nurture and empower individuals, organizations, and communities to discover, renew, and restore their cultural connections with improved economic and socio-cultural well-being.
Comprehensive Suicide Prevention Model goes beyond typical prevention strategies to consider approaches that go beyond individual behavior change to better address risk and protective factors impacting communities and populations. This includes changes to programs, practices, and policies that span multiple sectors and influence multiple levels of the social ecology, as these strategies are more likely to have a greater effect on the overall burden of suicide. The activities and outcomes of this project will increase African immigrant and refugee communities' awareness and knowledge to improve mental well-being and prevent suicide in youths. It will also contribute to state and national efforts to close gaps in Mental Health services to this population and improve Mental Health equity in the 7-county metro, which includes Anoka, Carver, Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey, Scott and Washington, Olmsted County, and Stearns County.
