Job Title: Parts Clerk
Department: Parts
Reports To: Service Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Job Summary:
Ability to process and locate unit parts for internal and external customers. Verify part numbers in the appropriate books via electronic records to ensure accuracy. Perform cycle counts and record data; reporting any variances to management. Monitor inventory levels and research any data inconsistencies. Initiate daily contact with Parts Manager to make sure shop needs are met so operations run smoothly. Enhance organizations reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing work that meets and exceeds customer expectations. Promotes a safety culture in the work environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide Superior customer service to customers and vendors via telephone or in person.
- Ability to identify customer parts needs and locate part numbers in the appropriate parts books or via electronic records.
- Assist service shop technicians in identifying parts necessary for repairs and pulling the parts for them and getting them posted to the repair order.
- Attention to detail in every facet of inventory.
- Cycle counting inventory including counting and documenting counts, reporting variances to management, and researching variances.
- Maintain a clean and orderly warehouse/shop area.
- Process customer orders through the computer system and complete orders by pulling, delivering or shipping parts. Also ship out warranty parts as needed.
- Check in stock orders and daily deliveries, process inbound as needed.
- Maintain landscaping and lot cleanliness as needed to keep a positive appearance.
- Locate and pick up parts and or supplies.
- Keep parts truck clean and fueled; clean service truck as needed.
- Assist Trailer Sales with upkeep of stocked trailers. Clean up trade-in’s as directed.
- Communicate effectively with all departments about customer needs.
- Perform daily yard check.
Job Requirements:
- Service orientation to deliver a consistent high level customer experience.
- Basic to intermediate computer knowledge i.e. Excel and a willingness to learn.
- Attention to detail and follow up.
- Active listening, oral/written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Prioritize, plan and organize parts and inventory processes.
- Must be able to multi-task and manage time to meet customer expectations.
Attendance and punctuality are essential job functions. Employees must arrive to work prior to the scheduled shift start time, while not taking unscheduled and unauthorized absences as determined by company.
Rare: Less than 5% of shift and/or less than 10 x a day. Occasionally: 6-33% of the shift and/or up to 50 x a day.
