TITLE: Purchasing Clerk IV (Custodial Services)
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School graduate and one year of training beyond high school or three years clerical experience in an office environment. Minimum typing skill of 35 wpm. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (word processing, spreadsheet, database).

REPORTS TO: Assigned supervisor
JOB GOAL: To provide receptionist/clerical duties as assigned.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Receives and refers telephone calls and visitors to appropriate staff members.
Maintains records of call-in requests.
Opens mail daily and forwards to appropriate departments.
Organizes custodial meetings, workshops and annual custodial awards banquet.
Enters inspection data and maintains files.
Issues purchase orders and inspects related bills to insure proper budget code and vendor numbers are correct for submitting payment.
Enters inventory, purchases, and labor on work order before closing.
Processes incoming mail correspondence to include invoices, statements and status of payments.
Prepares correspondence, reviews and edits correspondence prepared by staff members. Checks for correct grammar, proper format and necessary attachments.
Orders and manages office supplies, office equipment and other supplies needed for the Custodial Services Department.
Maintains custodian of the month and other awards certificates.
Maintains school custodians and Custodial Services supervisors work schedules.
Creates and closes work orders for Custodial Services, housekeeping equipment and fire extinguisher repair.
Assists Human Resources when needed.
Serves as the backup bookkeeper.
Attends and successfully completes all training activities as required to improve ability and knowledge in performance of work duties.
Serves as team player and role model for other employees in the organization; demonstrates a commitment to continuous quality improvement; supports and exhibits organizational core values of caring, respect, integrity, responsibility, high expectations, being customer driven, and valuing diversity.
Performs other duties and accepts responsibilities as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must have finger dexterity and be able to perform the basic life operational functions of walking, talking, hearing, stooping, kneeling, standing, sitting, crouching, pushing, pulling, lifting, feeling and repetitive motions.
Must be able to perform lifting exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Must possess the visual acuity to work with data, figures, and operate a computer.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Background check with local and state law enforcement agencies required.
Must possess a valid North Carolina Driver's License.
