Role & Responsibilities

- Own the development of grant proposals, reports, and other materials that aid in the stewardship of World Relief partners, including churches, major donors, foundations, and corporations, and spanning World Relief’s international and US work.
- Write and develop other content for partners and prospects (stories, updates, newsletters, emergency appeals, etc.).
- Create, tailor and manage creative resources in support of frontline fundraisers’ relationship development efforts (including templates, overviews, presentation decks, and other collateral).
- Deliver world-class written communications that demonstrate the impact of giving to World Relief.
- Develop and manage timelines and key project indicators for deadlines and submissions of proposals and reports.
- Liaise with program staff to organize and facilitate streamlined proposal development and impact reporting processes.
- Represent the team in cross-departmental projects and initiatives; serve as a connector between program staff, WR’s partnership impact team, and the Strategic Engagement operations team to ensure smooth flow of information and data.

- Ability to anticipate audience-specific communication needs and support the execution of these needs.
- Project management, from facilitating big-picture strategic conversations about positioning and prospects to completion and on-time submission of full proposal and report packages (narratives, budgets and attachments).
- Understanding of global issues and ability to distill complex situations into digestible content pieces.
- Ability to write compelling stories that help our partners move forward in their journey with WR.
- Ability to manage and prioritize competing tasks to meet multiple, simultaneous deadlines and motivate others to do so, using diplomacy, clear communication and effective systems and processes to ensure that all team members follow through on assignments and tasks on time.
- Ability to think and write creatively.
- Capable of balancing independent and remote work structure with a highly collaborative team-based culture.
- Extremely self-motivated with a proactive approach to work.
- Ability to use with fluency all Microsoft programs such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.
Requirements

- Able to affirm and/or acknowledge World Reliefs Core Beliefs, Statement of Faith, Christian Identity and National Evangelicals For the Health of The Nation document
- Bachelor’s degree required, additional education preferred
- 5+ years of experience in a variety of writing formats, specifically development writing; grant writing experience strongly preferred
- 5+ years in a project management role with demonstrated increasing responsibility over time
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills; attention to detail and ability to execute well
- Ability to write logically, clearly and concisely
- Ability to use Canva or similar design application
- Familiarity with Raiser’s Edge donor tracking system or equivalent
- Excellent analytical/problem-solving skills and detail orientation
- Ability to work effectively both as a team member and independently
- Ability to capture and organize complex information

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations
- The ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-15 pounds.
- Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application information.
- The employee frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear.
- General office setting. World Relief also offers hybrid and remote schedules for limited positions.
- Great lengths of time working on computer, reading from computer screen, entering information, standing at copier or fax machine, and some time on the phone or in virtual meetings may be required.
- Year-end archiving activities involve repeated lifting and bending.
