Part Time Weekend Security Monitor

Job Summary:

The Trauma Informed Security Role will monitor Interactive Resource Center programs and property. This position requires someone who is passionate and dedicated to making a difference in the lives of those in need, while working in a compassionate therapeutic team environment. The Monitor provides de-escalation and trauma informed practices to monitor the culture program offerings and aiding in the safety of employees and guests.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Patrol and monitor the IRC location; document and report suspicious activities to supervisor

• Check and ensure security of property
• Investigate reports of suspicious activity on the property

• Enforce rules around tents and sleeping on property

• Performs other related duties as assigned
• Work in collaboration with GPD in investigations as required

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Trained in verbal and physical de-escalation techniques on and on how to respond to code grey situations
• Must have emotional control, integrity, professionalism, reporting skills and compassion
• Excellent observational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to effectively communicate well verbally and non-verbally

• An understanding and experience with trauma informed care
• Ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations

• Ability to learn the layout of the property and buildings
• Trauma and client centered approach
• Maintain client confidentiality at all times except when required to relay information to management

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree preferred

• Security training certification preferred, with preference to trauma informed de-escalation practices

• Previous experience required

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to patrol the property and access areas quickly

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time
• Must be able to sit and stand for long periods of time

Calculated Hourly Range for role: $18-$20 per hour

Schedule: 7:30 am - 7:30 pm OR 7:30 pm - 7:30 am
