POSITION DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Part-Time Therapist
Program: Clinical Reports to: Clinical Director, Mental Health Services Supervisor
POSITION FUNCTION/OVERVIEW:
This position is responsible for providing appropriate therapeutic interventions to children and families receiving services from
Hibiscus Children’s Center. Fee for Service Therapists may be assigned to work with outpatient clients in the community.
PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
➢ Ensure all services provided comply with Medicaid requirements, contract, licensing, and grant agreements
➢ Collaborate with referring agent and appropriate community resource staff
➢ Complete all client related documentation, including but not limited to, in-depth psychosocial assessments, treatment plan, treatment plan reviews, progress notes, transfer summaries and discharge summaries, in accordance with agency policy

➢ Manage behavioral health crisis situations, including assessment for need to be placed in more restrictive environment, such as a crisis stabilization unit or acute psychiatric inpatient care (VOCA Funded Activities-Case Management)
➢ Provide individual, family, and/or group therapy to community outpatient clients (VOCA Funded activities)
➢ Identify support services needed for successful discharge and transition into next placement (VOCA Funded Activities-case management services)
➢ Act as a liaison with outside social services agencies, schools, and other organizations (VOCA Funded Activities -case management)
➢ Testify in court, when needed
➢ Provide at least 10 hours of direct client contact services per week
➢ Maintain VOCA client caseload in accordance with VOCA budget requirements
➢ Complete time sheets in accordance with VOCA requirements
➢ Provide accurate and timely input of daily activity and associated documentation into medical records system (ECr).
➢ Complete required annual trainings (20 hours)
➢ Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
➢ Master’s in Social Work (or equivalent) from an accredited university or college, in the field of counseling, social work, psychology, nursing, rehabilitation, special education, health education, or a related human services
➢ Two years experience in working with children with emotional disturbances, abuse or neglect
➢ Unlicensed therapists are required to participate in 4 hours of supervision per month with licensed practitioner within their field of practice
➢ Licensed therapists are required to participate in 2 hours of supervision per month unless waived by program director
➢ Must be able to travel
REQUIRED SKILLS:
➢ Ability to work in team environment with diverse employees and client population
➢ Understanding of infant and child growth and development
➢ Awareness of socio-cultural characteristics of clients population
➢ Computer skills
