The Part-Time Student Program is primarily designed to augment the Company’s regular full-time staff and is for students who work in parallel to their school schedule YEAR-ROUND.
Your Responsibilities
As a Part-Time Student-Manufacturing Engineering for John Deere Waterloo Works located in Waterloo, IA, you will:
- Assist the Production Control team with updating and sending out multiple daily reports.
- Assist the Production Control team with scrap tags.
- Look for opportunities to improve Production Control processes.
- Assist the Production Control team with Inventory control (COGI).
This position is not available to students on immigration visas.
What Skills You Need
- Ideally you will be pursuing a degree in an business administration, supply chain management, accounting or related discipline; others may apply.
- Must be registered as a full-time student at a local accredited college/university.
- Graduation date of May 2025 or later.
- Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above.
- Available to work during the academic year 16-20 hours/weekly.
- Available to work during the summer semester 35-40 hours/weekly.
- Must be able to commute to the work location in Waterloo, Iowa, on a daily basis year-round.
- Experience using Microsoft Applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

- Experience using SAP-PP (Production Planning) transactions.
- Experience with Legacy material planning systems such as CWIS (Common Worldwide Inter-factory System) for service parts fulfillment and Material Requirements Planning.
- Understanding of Bill of Material (BOM).
