Role Snapshot
Provide clerical services in opening, identifying, prepping, and sorting all incoming mail/documents for all lines of business and contracts in order to bring them under initial control within a strict timeframe.
In this role you will:
- Perform various clerical tasks requiring some diversity and application of several established procedures.
- Open, identify, sort, and route all incoming claim and non-claim documents according to in document type, scanning needs, and guidelines for multiple contracts to the appropriate departments.
- Perform basic, routine equipment maintenance, including but not limited to, automated mail opening equipment.
- Meet department requirements for quality based on weekly audits and department productivity.
- Anticipate, participate, and make recommendations in changing conditions.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines.
- Batch and dispatch claims/documents according to specified divisional guideline.
- Empty recycle bins into locked containers.
- Deliver buckets of sorted/prepped claims/documents utilizing carts as needed.
- Maintain an organized workspace while keeping supplies stocked.
- Comply with system security requirements contained in WPS Information Systems Policy which include appropriate use of hardware and software, ensuring confidentiality.
- Comply with all WPS policies and procedures, which include maintaining confidentiality of information.

Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience using personal computer with basic keyboarding skills.
- Ability to learn multiple divisions’ opening, identifying, prepping, and sorting guidelines.
- Ability to learn basic office procedures and Mailroom filing systems, forms, and routines.
- Ability to operate office equipment, including copier, automated mail opening machines,
- computer, etc.
- Ability to learn and access system-related applications and programs.
- Ability to assume multi-faceted tasks with flexibility to adjust to continuing change and
- fluctuating workloads.
- Demonstrated ability to understand and accurately follow written guidelines/procedural
- updates to comply with all relevant ISO policies and procedures.
- Ability to transport materials weighing up to 50 lbs. using proper equipment to designated locations required.
Hourly Rate of Pay
- Starting hourly rate: $16.40/hour based on county SCA rates.
**Part Time Schedule:
- On Site – Madison WI – Tradewinds Building - 5049 Tradewinds Parkway - Madison, WI 53718
- Workdays: Monday, Thursday and Friday.
- Hours are negatable between 7:00am and 7:00pm central – 16 Hours per week.
- Training shift: 8:00a – 12:00p CST for 4 weeks
