Job Description:
We are seeking a part-time to full-time Laundry Attendant in our facility near Ebensburg, PA. This position is responsible for performing a variety of environmental service activities, as assigned, to keep the building operating as cleanly, efficiently, and effectively as possible. Duties include, but are not limited to, facility cleaning activities and laundry/linen duties.
Responsibilities:

• Performs laundry duties according to established policy and procedures.
• Performs daily cleaning routines and assembles necessary cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Always wear PPE Personal Protective Equipment: wears gloves, goggles and masks as needed.
• Uses supplies efficiently and with regard to both effectiveness and cost. Reports lack of supplies, faulty equipment, etc. to Laundry Manager immediately.
• Dust, wet mop floors as assigned daily.
• Sorts linens as per policy and procedure and sorts soiled linens to appropriate soiled carts for washing.
• Loads washers using as per instructions and training and assures appropriate environment of water temperature.
• Washes laundry carts with germicidal solution.
• Safely operates and cleans laundry equipment.
• Scrubs laundry floor as per cleaning frequency schedule.
• Cleans and turns dryers on per manufacturer instructions and dries linen according to applicable item and per policy/procedure.
• Checks linens to ensure quality/cleanliness daily. All linens are dried and folded properly.
• Loads and covers all linens being transported and delivers linens as needed.
• Safely turns off dryers, cleans dryer screens daily and removes lint from back of dryer.
• Demonstrates understanding of and utilizes detergents, disinfectants as per label instructions.
• Handles isolation bags/linens with no deviations from Infection Control Policies/Procedures.
• Promotes a safe environment.
• Demonstrates flexibility in responses to unexpected changes in workload, emergencies, staffing and scheduling changes.
• Performs other duties as directed.

Qualifications:

• Effective oral communication.
• Experience in a laundry environment preferred.
• High school diploma/GED.
• Ability to successfully complete a background and driver's license check subject to applicable law.

Physical and Work Environment Requirements:

• Ability to regularly lift 50 pounds and ability to lift up to 100 pounds with assistance.
• Exposure to chemicals.
• Walking and standing for long periods of time, driving, sitting, climbing.
• Repetitive pushing/pulling/lifting/carrying objects.
