SUMMARY
The Laundry Attendant is responsible for the complete upkeep and smooth functioning of the laundry department. The Laundry Attendant should possess knowledge of all equipment and how it operates. The position also works closely with housekeeping to ensure proper inventory levels are supplied to the floors in a timely and efficient manner.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Assist in quarterly linen inventories.
- Store fronting and straightening of the service hallway where linen bins and racks are kept.
- Must maintain high standards of linen cleanliness and laundry room maintenance.
- Ensure that all linen items are cleaned, presoak items when needed.
- Operate and monitor washing and drying machinery, according to instructions and safety precautions, to include adding chemicals and cleaning lint traps.
- Keeps soiled and clean laundry items separated at all times.
- Keeps spills in work area mopped up.
- Maintain a safe work environment.
- Gain comprehensive knowledge of all equipment and chemicals.
- Follows safety procedures for using chemicals, transferring laundry and pushing carts.
- Sort/record discarded linen into categories and report damage or loss.
- Maintain records of items laundered.
- Work closely with members of the hotel housekeeping team to facilitate guest needs should they arise.
- Assist with marking new dropped linen as needed.
In addition to the above responsibilities, the Laundry Attendant may be asked to participate in additional duties and special projects designed by the housekeeping manager or hotel manager.

- Must be able to lift 20 pounds on a consistent basis
