At JEVS Human Services, we believe in giving people possibilities—opportunities to be self-sufficient and satisfied. Each year we touch nearly 25,000 lives, focusing on individuals with physical, developmental, and emotional challenges as well as those facing adverse socio-economic conditions including unemployment and underemployment.
Orleans Technical College in Philadelphia—operated by JEVS Human Services—is a non-profit, post-secondary school that provides career and technical education (CTE) to help individuals from all walks of life move toward one common goal: learning new skills to enhance success in the workforce.
Under the supervision of the Academic Affairs Director, the instructor will be responsible for teaching courses related to the subjects above.
Previous online teaching experience preferred, but not required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide instruction, as specified in the curriculum, up to 5-7 hours per week.
- Instruction is delivered in an asynchronous manner.
- Provide testing of students’ knowledge of theory
- Establish and maintain 5-7 office hours weekly to answer students’ questions.
- Assess student performance on course assignments and provide assessment feedback to support student learning.
- Implement changes to curricula and lesson plans to incorporate approved/relevant online and digital content, new textbooks, new testing software, new instructor resources, new equipment.
- Serve as liaison between trades faculty and administration.
