Job Description
CLASSIFICATION: Part-Time (works a regular schedule at least 18 hours weekly/36 hours per 80 hour pay cycle). Non-Exempt.
BASIC FUNCTIONS: As a Classroom Aide your primary responsibility is to assist the Lead Teacher and Assistant Teacher in the care and safety of children in the HeadStart program. Aides are expected to float between classrooms to assist with teaching children while playing a key part in the growth and development and overall supervision of daily classroom activities. You are assisting with kindergarten readiness teaching them an innovative, engaging and theme-based curriculum that follows both a structured format and ability to build relationships. You are lifting infants into and out of a crib, diaper changing, maintaining active supervision of the health, safety and care of children per Head Start Performance Standards.
MINIMUM CREDENTIALS: Must have a High School Diploma/GED (education assistance for CDA or AA degree in Early Childhood Education available when transferring to a full-time position); and have one year teaching experience with preschool aged children; must demonstrate passion for working with children, basic knowledge of child development, creativity and outgoing nature, good communication skills and willing to obtain CPR certificate, background and drug screen.

SALARY: Base salary compensation will be commensurate with meeting both Education and Experience.
