Responsibilities:
- Perform routine dental procedures such as fillings, extractions, and cleanings
- Conduct patient assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
- Administer local anesthesia and monitor patients during procedures
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and preventive care
- Collaborate with the dental team to ensure efficient and effective patient care
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using electronic medical documentation systems (such as Epic)
- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain aseptic technique in all procedures
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in dentistry through continuing education and professional development
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of dental office procedures, including medical coding, billing, and insurance claims
- Proficient in infection control protocols and maintaining a sterile environment
- Excellent patient assessment skills and ability to develop comprehensive treatment plans
- Familiarity with dental anatomy and understanding of oral health conditions
- Experience with electronic medical documentation systems (such as Epic) for accurate recordkeeping
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to dentistry
