General Description
Niagara County Community College has a need for a Part Time Instructor to teach various courses in the Animal Management program.
Classes are held on the NCCC's main campus in Sanborn, NY on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Remuneration for this position is: $884 per lecture hour/$792 per lab hour.
In order to build and maintain an active pool of qualified candidates to meet our present and future needs for this position, Niagara County Community College will accept applications on a continuous basis. Openings may or may not exist at this time. Applications are evaluated on an as-needed basis, and candidates will be contacted when the department has an opening. Essential Functions
Ability to work with, and teach a diverse student population. Ability to speak in front of groups of people. Must be able to effectively communicate with students, co-workers, supervisors and the campus community. Must be able to develop, prepare and present information. Must able to operate computers. Must be able to physically perform the duties of the position.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and enrolled in a Master's degree level program in Biology, Zoology, Wildlife Conservation, or related curriculum; 1 year teaching experience at the post-secondary level.
Desirable Qualifications
Master's degree in Biology, Zoology, Wildlife Conservation, or related curriculum; two years teaching at the community college level. Minimum one year work experience as a professional zookeeper or aquarist.

About SUNY Niagara
Established in 1962, NCCC offers a comprehensive and vibrant learning environment with an enrollment of approximately 5,214 students (Fall 2018 semester). The student to faculty ratio is 17:1, providing a high degree of personalized attention for students.
The NCCC campus, located in Sanborn, NY, offers easy access to both Buffalo, NY and Niagara Falls State Park, and is minutes from the Canadian border. The campus is centrally located between the county's three main cities of Lockport, Niagara Falls, and North Tonawanda. NCCC serves the community in two locations within Niagara County, at the Sanborn campus, and at the Niagara Falls Culinary Institute, located in the heart of downtown Niagara Falls.
NCCC continues to actively expand with the recent opening of its Learning Commons Center, a $25 million dollar project on the Sanborn campus. In just a short period of time, it has become the nucleus of the campus; a place for faculty to collaborate and help students develop critical thinking skills while incorporating state-of-the-art technology and innovative student support services.
