SENIOR CENTER
SITE FACILITATOR AND DEPARTMENT SUPPORT
NATURE OF WORK:
Performs a variety of semi-skilled tasks associated with the care, upkeep, maintenance, improvements and inspections of all properties assigned to the Parks and Recreation Department, such as but not limited to all picnic areas, buildings, play areas, restrooms and open spaces. Provide support to the Senior Center including but not limited to Senior Van Driver.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
Works under the direction of the Parks and Recreation/Senior Center Director or his/her designee.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED: None.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Performs a variety of semi-skilled tasks associated with and not limited to weekly inspections of all areas, collection of trash, painting/staining, repairing various types of support equipment, maintain/clean/repair restrooms(including mobile restrooms), open and close key facilities, maintain/repair park equipment, i.e., park benches, grills, pavilions, picnic tables.
Keep all areas clean of trash. Empties and cleans trash containers at all sites daily.
Repair pavilions, restrooms and play apparatus at all sites. Maintains, inventories all equipment, organizes and cleans all storage facilities, Parks and athletic facilities
Constructs various support of equipment or athletic equipment.
Must possess the ability to follow directions and work without supervision. Must have skills in carpentry, basic mechanics and the use of power hand tools.
Must have the ability to stand for long periods of time, lift heavy loads and work in extreme temperatures or harsh weather conditions.

Ability to insure the confidentiality of and protect the integrity of the Town of Ledyard.
Experience and Training
High school diploma or GED and four years maintenance experience reflecting progressive responsibility. Knowledge of basic carpentry , mechanics and the ability to use hand and power tools.
Additional Requirements

Hand-eye coordination is necessary to operate computers and various pieces of equipment.
