This position is an hourly position at pay grade 107.
Attendance
Non-rotating 40-hour work week, Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm; must be available to work additional hours as needed.

Overview
The Parking Enforcement Officer will be responsible for the enforcement and compliance of ADA and city parking ordinances city-wide. By issuing citations, booting vehicles, green tagging abandoned vehicles, educations the public on parking regulations and issues with compassionate communication skills.
Responsibilities
• Enforce parking regulations city wide by patrolling in a golf cart, automobile, pick-up truck or on foot in all types of weather
• Generate citations (handwritten or via electronic ticket writers)
• Testify in court when necessary
• ADA patrol enforcing Chapter 681 of the Texas Transportation Code regarding privileged/disabled parking
• Enforcement of Neighborhood Parking Initiative addressing quality of life and public safety violations
• Educate the public on parking regulations and issues
• Assist the Police Department during special events when assigned/requested
• Identify, document and report malfunctioning, vandalized and damaged meters and pay stations
• Assist in removal, repair, service and replacement of meters, pay stations, housing and poles
• Assist Maintenance Technician in the collection of coins from parking meters and pay stations
• Assist Police Department in traffic control of intersections, accidents, special events, parades and Presidential motorcades when requested and/or assigned
• Install and remove mechanical "boots" on vehicles with multiple outstanding violations
• Coordinate with Municipal Court, Marshall's Office and Corpus Christi Police Department throughout the process to release vehicles meeting the financial requirement for release or arrange for the towing of vehicles who fail to do so to the city impound lot
• Provide customer service to the general public by answering questions, providing directions, distributing brochures/maps, watching for the safety of those on the street
• Assist during special events and activities with the goal of leaving those they encounter with a positive Experience
• Ensure the Ambassador approach is the first and foremost method of response in all situations
• Exhibit a calm and empathetic demeanor when working with upset/frustrated citizens
• Responsible for service, maintenance and simple repairs of golf carts, automobiles and other equipment necessary to perform the functions of the job
• May be asked to perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
• Requires a High School Diploma/GED
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience
• A valid driver's license is required; successful out-of-state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire

Basis of Rating
Application review and the City may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview.
