Parking Enforcement Officer

Schedule: Full Time 8:30 AM to 7:00 PM 4 days each week, 1 Saturday every 6 weeks

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Parking Ambassador performs a variety of tasks to ensure a smooth operation of on street parking. The Ambassador works closely with fellow team members and management to ensure that quality and safety standards are met, responds to citizen inquiries and is responsible for issuing parking citations.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• At least 18 years of age
• Valid Kentucky Driver’s License
• Excellent customer service and communication skills

· Previous customer service, military or security experience preferred.

· Must have the ability to work alone, exercise sound judgment and

diplomacy in dealing with people.

· Must pass a detailed background check.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is performed outdoors for extended periods of time including up to the entire duration of shift. Employees are subject to environmental conditions including extreme heat and cold weather. Protection from weather conditions is provided.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

1. Patrol an assigned area by foot to observe automobiles, motorcycles, commercial vehicles, etc. for parking violations.

2. Record and enter data for required citations / violations in a handheld computer or on handwritten tickets. Immobilize or impound vehicles as directed.

3. Inform management of malfunctioning parking meters, faded paint on curbs, vandalized signs, and other damage to the client’s property.

4. Assist maintenance staff when required with painting, cleaning and repairing parking meters, installing signs and meters.

5. Assist in the collection of money from parking meters when needed.

6. Use respectful communication to assist guests with their questions, problems, and concerns; relay information to management as necessary.

7. Immediately report any accidents, incidents or safety concerns to management.
