JOB SUMMARY
SHIFT: 5:30 am - 1:30 pm
Under general supervision, the Parking Attendant 1 monitors and enforces, on an assigned shift, the rules and regulations of the Georgia Building Authority pertaining to the safeguarding of employees, building, property and the parking of vehicles at state parking facilities. The Parking Attendant 1 also performs other job-related duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Communicates with the general public and other state employees in order to issue and explain parking citations, give directions, explain policies and procedures, and request police assistance when needed
- Remain professional and courteous with the general public in the performance of assigned duties
- Detects and reports hazardous situations to appropriate authorities
- Reports suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities
- Ensures all personnel and vehicles entering the facilities are properly identified
- Walks and patrols parking areas to check for unauthorized subjects or vehicles, fires, water leaks, non-working equipment or lights and general building security
- Resolve complaints regarding parking to the extent possible on the scene
- Complete tow slips for vehicles that need to be removed from an assigned parking space
- Service vehicles with gas, diesel, or Certified Natural Gas (CNG)
- Operates mobile radio equipment and write tickets for illegally parked vehicles
- Calculates parking charges and collect fees from customers
· As directed, operates a motor vehicle for transporting GBA tools
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Any combination of training and experience that will lead to competencies related to area of assignment.
Must meet agency requirements to operate a vehicle.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess the following:
· High school diploma or GED and one (1) year experience handling cash exchanges.
· Must have a valid Georgia Driver’s License and meet the agency’s requirements to be an authorized driver.
· NOTE: May be required to work nights and weekends and ability to work shifts. (Prolonged walking, standing and sitting are required)

Pay: $31,000.00 per year
