Job Purpose
The Park Attendant position is a part-time temporary position that will require a flexible schedule of working weekdays and weekends with some evening hours until 9pm. The work hours will be up to 20 hours per week. Areas of responsibility include but are not limited to the following: serve as public contact for the park; oversee the Cedarock Park Gift Shop with the sale and restocking of merchandise, fishing permits, site rentals, answering the telephone and providing general information about Cedarock Park and other department facilities. Assistance may be needed for special events. Additional responsibilities include cleaning and maintaining the restrooms, picking up trash and emptying trash receptacles, and other light maintenance duties. Applicant must have the ability to work independently, work well with full-time staff and be customer service oriented
Responsibilities
- Monitors customers and interacts with customers at Cedarock Park.
- Ensures adherence to established rules and regulations; maintains safe clean environment and reports any damages or issues that may cause safety hazards.
- Demonstrates the ability to work with youth and young adults, provides excellent customer services, and works with minimal supervision.
- Performs administrative duties including answering phones, responding to customers, completing forms, setting up and breaking down necessary equipment, etc.
- Operates a cash register and keeps accurate sales records for the park's store.
- Maintains cleanliness of facilities and light maintenance tasks, including cleaning restrooms and Park Office space.
- Performs other duties as assigned

Skills & Abilities
Education: High school diploma or G.E.D equivalent is required. Some college course work is preferred with a major in recreation or related field.
Experience: Prior experience working independently to accomplish a diverse variety of tasks and experience working in customer service preferred.
Computer Skills: Must have a basic to intermediate functional knowledge of computers. Experience with internet, email, Microsoft Word, preferred.
License/Credentials/Requirement: Possession of a valid NC driver's license.
Other Important Position Information: Candidate must be 18 years of age or older to be considered for this position. This position is a part-time non-benefited position in which hours will vary and will average no greater than 19 hours per week. Hours can be scheduled based on a rotation basis and season needs.
- September and October / Monday - Sunday 2 p.m. - 8 p.m.
- November - March / Monday - Sunday 2 p.m. - 6 p.m.
- April / Monday - Sunday 2 p.m. - 8 p.m.
- May - August / Monday - Sunday 2 p.m. - 9 p.m.
