The Parking & Lot Attendant is responsible for daily operational activities of the entrance and exit gate for the 189th DSSB Compound. The Parking Lot Attendant controls authorized entry and use of lot, refers parking related problems arising within the facility to appropriate authorities for appropriate actions.


Responsibilities

This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company. 

 

MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:

  • Controls the entrance and exit gate at the 189th DSSB Compound
  • Responsible for controlling and accounting for GSA vehicles; responsible for policing entire compound; ensures vehicle windows are closed, controls authorized entry and use of lot.
  • Refers parking related issues arising within the facility to appropriate authorities for administrative actions.
  • Other duties may be assigned to meet organizational/operational objectives.
  • Job duties and responsibilities may change due to contractual requirements to include working overtime, weekends, flexible hours, and holidays.
  • Records information for equipment and visitors during entrance and exit of the compound.
  • Secures main gate and building at the end of the workday. Includes locking all gates, walking the compound perimeter to ensure all doors/ bays are closed/locked, and all visitors and visitor vehicle are out of compound.
  • Assists with compound and facility cleaning tasks.
  • May be required to physically move plastic barrier parking cones multiple times during a shift.
  • May be required to police customer/employee parking lot of trash and debris.
  • May be required to move and/or park vehicles.
  • Prepares & maintains documents for issue, return, and receipt of vehicles, storage containers, and other various equipment as required.
  • Cleans guard shack every day to include: (bathroom, refrigerator, and microwave).
  • Interact with visitors and customers in a cordial and respectful manner.
  • Directs visitors to the appropriate location or personnel on the compound as required.
  • Interacts with customers in a cordial and respectful manner.

MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED:

  • Computers, Fax machine, Copier, Printer and Phones.
  • Personal computer systems, Microsoft Office Programs, any other pertinent software, and general office equipment.
  • Steel Toe shoes may be required to be worn in designated areas.
  • Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required in certain areas. Face Mask that covers nose and mouth required.
  • Use of Government Furnished vehicle.
  • Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

  • Majority of work will typically be in a gate shack/house environment.
  • There may be times when an employee is exposed to extreme hot and cold weather conditions.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:

  • Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds and required to wear Personal Protective Safety Gear, such as face mask (covering the nose and mouth), a safety vest, safety shoes, and gloves in required areas.
  • Must be able to operate standard office equipment, such as a computer, copy machine and printer.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must possess a valid State Driver’s License.
  • Must be able to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship, such as a birth certificate or a U.S. Passport.
  • Must be able to maintain driving privileges aboard the Fort Liberty Installation.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and Program random drug screening.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Two (2) years of experience working as a Parking & Lot Attendant or in a related position, preferred.
  • Other duties as assigned to meet organizational/operational objectives.
