Program runs Monday through Thursday. (You would work whichever days best suit your schedule)
- You must pass a pre-employment physical, drug test (includes Marijuana) and a TB skin test, as well as National & State Criminal Background checks, National & State Sex Offender registries and you must clear the State of MI's child abuse & neglect registry for this position.
Minimum Qualifications / Experience:
- High school diploma/GED.
- Demonstrated knowledge of youth.
- At least 2 years experience working with youth in a structured program setting.
- Shall be a person of good character who possesses the health, emotional stability, maturity and strength to carry out assigned duties.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Engage and assist students during academic enrichment activities.
- Assist youth with homework and provide support for individualized tutoring.
- Manage students in a safe and productive way.
- Conduct yourself in a manner to serve as a mentor and role model.
- Cultivates positive relationships with students, families, and fellow staff.
- Attends all mandatory meetings and completes all paperwork as required.
- Participates in 18 hours of professional development per year that meets licensing requirements.
- Performs duties in a manner that ensures compliance with Child Day Care Licensing rules and regulations.
- Ensures program operates in a way that follows industry quality standards and in accordance with the grant.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
